Blyertspenna
“Blyertspenna” is a long-term project that focuses on my relationship with my cousin, who does not communicate verbally. The series explores how photography and visual language can become forms of communication beyond speech. At its core, the project asks how much can be communicated when we take the time to truly look at each other. The starting point of the series is the pencil, an object my cousin always carries with her. Having lost its original function, the pencil has been recontextualized as a source of comfort and security. By focusing on this seemingly ordinary object, I aim to explore her attachment to it, as well as her introspective nature and the protective environment that has been built around her. Through the photographs, the pencil becomes both a recurring presence and a symbol of the ways in which comfort, communication, and intimacy can exist beyond language.
